In exactly 100 days, we will all meet in Hyde Park to increase awareness of mouth cancer, raise much needed funds, celebrate survivorship, remember lost dear ones and have fun. There will be a medal, T-shirt and goodie bag full of surprises for everyone who takes part.

Preparations are well underway but we are still looking for companies or individuals who could sponsor our two remaining prizes for the Top Fundraisers. If you are able to help us and sponsor a £50.00 or £100.00 prize, please get in touch.

World No Tobacco Day was created by the member states of the World Health Organization in 1987 to encourage a 24-hour abstinence from all forms of tobacco consumption. It also aims to draw everyone’s attention to the widespread prevalence of tobacco use and to its negative health effects.

The one-hour technique known as Transoral Robotic Surgery allows a surgeon to remove the cancer without splitting the jaw or taking tissue from other parts of the body.  It involves the use of the Da Vinci robot to access the tonsils through the mouth and unlike a traditional surgery carried out by two surgical teams, it has less complications.

We have been working with the agency since our launch in June 2004. They not only look after Press and PR for us and assist us in the day-to-day running of the charity but they are also doing a great job organising our annual Mouth Cancer 10km Awareness Walk to help us raise awareness of mouth cancer and generate much needed funds.
