The Mouth Cancer Foundation experienced a record number of hits to its website during January 2012.   The website, www.mouthcancerfoundation.org received over 5 million hits from 200008 visitors, from 131,189 sites, which is the largest number of hits in one month the charity has ever had.

The online members’ forum is also a hugely popular site for the charity.  As well as visitors going to the site for information, they regularly request leaflets and merchandise on all aspects of head and neck cancers. The signs, symptoms and how to care for those with head and neck cancer are the hottest topics.

Founder of the charity, Dr Vinod Joshi, explains “The months leading up to Mouth Cancer Awareness Week in November are typically busy for the charity.  The fact that website has received so many hits in January is a huge boost to the charity.  Historically, January is a quiet month for us.  It is fantastic that people are becoming more aware about mouth cancer.  It shows our website and marketing campaigns are working and the message is getting through.  This is the sole reason I set the charity up in the first place.”
